This week we celebrated National Custodians Day, and I would like to take a moment to honor our amazing custodial team here at McSwain. Their hard work and dedication ensure our campuses remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all students, staff, and families.

We are deeply grateful for the countless ways our custodial staff supports a positive learning environment each day. Much of their work happens behind the scenes, yet it is absolutely essential to the success of our East and West Campus.

Hello McSwain Community,

I hope you are well. As parents, we are often tasked with the question: What can I do at home to support my child’s learning and academic growth? One of the most common questions I receive is how to support students in mathematics.

Next week, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Duane Habecker, Mathematics Coordinator from the Merced County Office of Education, who will share best practices in math education and strategies families can use at home to help their children.

We will also highlight our partnership with MCOE and how the county is supporting mathematics instruction at McSwain. In addition, we will provide an overview of how McSwain uses the NWEA assessment to inform instruction and identify areas of student growth and support. We will also discuss state testing and our continued focus on Good First Teaching.
