Welcome – Athletic Director
Philosophy
Athletics mean more than competition between individuals representing different schools. It is rather, a means of learning a way of life with the philosophy that hard work and good character will bring eventual success and reward. Athletics at McSwain will be a positive force in preparing student athletes for an enriching and vital role in American life.
Overview
Each year McSwain provides athletic opportunities for over 250 students TK through 8th grade. Basketball (4 teams), baseball, softball, volleyball (2 teams), soccer (2 teams), track (3rd -8th grade) and cross country (TK- 8th grade) compete in the County Valley League here in Merced County. Student athletes are required to maintain good grades and be positive role models to participate in school sports programs. In many cases this lays the foundation and provides the motivation needed by students to focus on academics and balancing school and extracurricular activities.
