Hello McSwain Families,


As we break for the Thanksgiving holiday, on behalf of the staff here at McSwain, we wish you and your students a safe and restful break. Our amazing staff is also spending time with their families and getting recharged. As we all take time to rest, a reminder is there will be no school the week of November 20th- 24th.

Students and staff will return to school on November 27th.

Community Skate Night
Our Parent Association will be hosting our next skating party!

Date: Friday, November 17th 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Admission is $7 dollars which incudes skate rentals

This event is open to students and their families. As long as there is a McSwain student present, your group can go in!

For every individual that attends, the school is given a donation from Merced Roller Land. Thank you to our community partner!

We extend our deepest gratitude to all veterans for their extraordinary courage and unwavering commitment. Your selfless service in defending our nation's values and ensuring our freedom is immeasurably appreciated. As a reminder, in honor of our veterans, there will be no school tomorrow.


Report Card Week

We will have report card week from Nov 13th-17th


Please note the schedules below.

Nov 13th- Nov 16th

Monday- Thursday

West Campus will be released at 1:00 pm

East Campus will be released at 1:50 pm


Your child's teachers will send information about conferences and setting up meetings. Please be on the lookout for these communications.

In addition to report cards, your child will be given information regarding their state testing, our NWEA benchmark test, and ELPAC scores when applicable.

With all parent meetings, if you would like to set up an additional appointment with your child's teacher, please reach out to them, and we would be happy to accommodate.

The early bird price is $44! The early bird special ends this Friday!

After this Friday, the cost will be $49

Book Fair

The upcoming Book Fair for our Tk-6 students will be held in the West Campus Library. Mark your calendars for November 13-17!

Please note that the fair will end at 12:00 p.m. on the final day, Friday, November 17. We welcome everyone starting at 7:30 AM each day!

We hope to see our West and East campus TK-6 families there! There will be so many books to choose from for every reader.

Purchases can be paid for by cash, debit, or credit; If you'd like your child(ren) to shop cashless, we encourage you to set up an e-wallet NOW, so he/she is ready to shop on opening day! Set up your e-wallet on our webpage https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/mcswainwest

Reminder: in collaboration with 4H and our leadership class, our school will be concluding our Red Ribbon festivities tomorrow.


As you know, Red Ribbon Week focuses on leading and supporting our nation's families and communities while nurturing the full potential of healthy, drug-free youth and promoting engagement in drug-prevention activities.


Tomorrow, October 31st, the students will be able to dress up in costumes as part of our final Red Ribbon celebration. Here are some guidelines to ensure a positive and appropriate experience:


1. Masks are not permitted.

2. Costumes should not be disruptive to the learning environment.

3. Avoid gruesome or overly frightening costume choices.

4. Please adhere to the school's dress code for appropriateness.

5. Students not in compliance will be asked to make necessary changes.

6. Face painting is not allowed.

7. Do not wear costumes with motors or items that need to be inflated.


Thank you for your cooperation and support in making our Red Ribbon Week a meaningful and drug-free celebration for our students.

The McSwain Parent Club will meet on 10/30 at 6 p.m. in the West Campus Cafeteria.

We are thrilled to announce our inaugural Mustang Family Movie Night of the year. The Parent Club has arranged a screening of "Hotel Transylvania." Delicious food and beverages will be available for purchase. Join us for a night of family fun!






Red Ribbon Week

In collaboration with 4H and our leadership class, our school will be participating in Red Ribbon Week next week. Red Ribbon Week focuses on leading and supporting our nation's families and communities while nurturing the full potential of healthy, drug-free youth and promoting engagement in drug prevention activities.
