About Bus Transportation

Transportation is a valuable service provided by McSwain School to ensure students' safe and efficient travel to and from school. We kindly remind all students utilizing school transportation to adhere to the following procedures and regulations:

  1. Timeliness: Students must be at their designated bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. In the event that the bus does not arrive within 15 minutes of the normal time (excluding foggy day schedules), students should return home, and the school must be promptly notified.

  2. Safety of Young Students (TK - 2): For the safety of our youngest riders, TK - 2 students must be received by a responsible adult at their designated drop-off location. If no adult is visible, the child will be returned to the school. Repeated instances may lead to a suspension of bus privileges.

  3. Responsibility for Damages: Students damaging upholstery or equipment on the bus will be held accountable for the cost of repairs or replacements.

  4. Respect for Authority: Persistent refusal to comply with the instructions of the bus driver or failure to adhere to regulations may result in the denial of transportation services. Such decisions may be made by the driver, administrator, director of transportation, or any other responsible party involved in ensuring safe bus operations.

It is imperative to recognize that school transportation is a privilege, not a right. By following these guidelines, students contribute to a safe and respectful environment for themselves and their peers during transit. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our school transportation system.
