Dear McSwain Community,
As we continue into the warm summer weather, McSwain Union Elementary School District remains fully committed to the safety and well-being of our students. With temperatures expected to exceed 100 degrees tomorrow and Friday, we will be implementing the following measures to keep students safe and comfortable:
Physical Education Adjustments
On extremely hot days, Physical Education activities will be modified to include less strenuous exercises. When needed, we will shift instruction indoors to cooler spaces such as classrooms, the cafeteria, or the gym.
Cooler Recess Options
Students will have access to air-conditioned spaces, including classrooms, the cafeteria, and the gym, during recess to avoid prolonged exposure to heat.
Activity Scheduling
Strenuous activities such as running will be scheduled earlier in the day when temperatures are cooler.
Transportation
For afternoon and morning routes, we will be utilizing our air-conditioned buses to help alleviate the effects of high temperatures during student transport.
To support these efforts, we encourage families to send students with a refillable water bottle each day. Hydration stations are located throughout campus, making it easy for students to refill bottles and stay hydrated.
Your partnership is key to ensuring that our students remain healthy, safe, and ready to learn during these warm days. Thank you for your continued support.
Stay cool and hydrated!
Warm regards,
Mr. Pannu
