Activities

Meetings are scheduled for the last Monday of each month and are conducted in the West Campus staff lounge.  The meetings begin at 6:00 PM, scheduling conflicts may occur so please check the McSwain School Calendar for changes.  

 

This committee is responsible for greeting and handing out informational packets to all kindergarten parents.  This activity is scheduled for the day before school starts during the TK/Kindergarten orientation.

 

to celebrate and acknowledge our parents help, the Community Parent Club will host social events during the year.  These take place at both Back-to-School nights in the fall and both Open House nights in the spring.

 

Our annual Vendor Fair will be held on the first Saturday in March.  This event helps support the school's various activities.  Volunteers are needed for set-up, concession and clean up.

 

This program recognizes students from each class for displaying one of the 7 Habits every month.  It also rewards students for perfect attendance and celebrates good attendance at a special assembly at the end of the year.  Citizenship awards are given the first Friday of every month unless there is a scheduling conflict.

 

This is a wonderful way for children to socialize!  Volunteers are needed to work at the sign-in table and to tally class counts.  Please check the school calendar for skate nights.  Skate times are 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  Parents are encouraged to stay and skate for free, as this is not a supervised school event.  

 

This Fall fundraiser takes place annually and is used to raise money for grade level funds.

 

Movie nights are a fun way to help bring the "community feeling" to school.  Parents and children are invited to join us in the McSwain School cafeteria to watch pre-approved children movies, where everyone gets the drive-in atmosphere experience.  Parents are required to stay with their children. Children are welcomed to come in their PJ's and bring pillows and blankets.  Volunteers are needed to help with concessions, man doors and clean up in the evening.  Please check the McSwain School calendar for dates of Movie Nights.

 

We greatly appreciate our McSwain Staff!  Help us show our appreciation by donating your time, food items, drinks and/or a monetary gift to help purchase these items.  Anything and everything is truly appreciated!  the luncheon is held in May each year.

 

Volunteers are needed to cut, bundle and track Box tops that students turn in.  Help with fliers, prize collection and distribution is also needed.  Parents don't forget to place a piece of paper with your child's name and teacher name in the bag with the Box Tops.  The Last turn in day is always in early May. 

 

Our McSwain Librarians work very hard in scheduling the Book Fair.  The Book Fair on West Campus is held in November and the East Campus Book Fair is held in the Spring.  Volunteers are needed to help set up, work as cashiers, and take down displays.
